Orchestral Tools payment security standards issue

Hi,

Just wanted to share an issue I had recently regarding @OrchestralTools hoping that maybe someone can relate to this since I haven't seen anything about this anywhere. So the other day, I went on their website to buy the men and women choirs from the Tallinn library. I had taken time to think about this purchase so I was quite excited. It was my first OT purchase I had gotten the EDU discount so everything was going great. But as soon as I tried to purchase one of the choir (since you can't buy 2 OT products at the same time for some strange reason), I read an error message stating :

"Your payment has not been authorized."

I contacted OT support as well as my bank. After a few emails, my bank found out that they had automatically blocked the payment because OT didn't respect my bank's security standards.

So I'm definitely not blaming OT for that but it's just super weird. I've bought stuff from a lot of different orchestral companies (Cinematic Studios, Cinesamples, Spitfire, Heaviocity and lot's off other small ones) and this has never happened to me.

I'm just sharing my frustration sorry no offense OT but I'd love to be able to buy stuff from you guys one day... 😥

I think a number of banks have tightened up on how payment gateways talk to their systems. I had this in all places when trying to top up a Clipper card on my phone to use on the BART and buses in San Francisco over the summer. One issuer refused the transaction and I thought they might have blocked the card as it was the first transaction after a long flight (which would have been a PITA). As it turned out, it was a similar issue to this one: apparently the Bay Area transport systems were doing something slightly wrong with performing the transactions. A card from a different issuer worked fine.

The card I would use for OT is actually the same one as that blocked in SF, so it will interesting to see if that happens on this one if I succumb to the sale.

Interesting, thanks for your input !

Hi, it just happened to me as well.

But, I resolved this issue by using Paypal.

Instead of doing this, :
Credit Card > Purchase

Do this :
Credit Card > Paypal > Purchase

Cheers
