Easy resynthesis with Loris

A video I recorded earlier this year. A little different to my usual HISE stuff. I'm using resynthesis here within my process of creating sample libraries but I'm sure you can use it in more directly musical ways.

I had great hopes for resynthesis & years ago bought a Kyma system on that basis. Sold it again a year later as the resynthesis had a digital aspect that was impossible to avoid (it felt to me like bad digital filter interpolation or something) but as a technique it has the potential to be far more revolutionary (AND actually useful) than AI and machine learning imho.

As I expressed in this thread, I would dream of a sampler based on resynthesis, which would provide the best of both worlds, sampling for the authenticity of the original sound, and synthesis for sonic flexibility (morphing, pitch manipulation...).
If I knew how to program, I think that would be my quest, but since I don't, I leave it to d.healey to make my dream come true.

Actually this is possible in HISE now since Loris is built in and can also be used with its wavetable synthesiser. I haven't explored this side of HISE much myself though but definitely something I will look into when I have time.

The only plugin I found in this category is Tomofon, and that suggests powerful possibilities.
Just being able to slide the key from one sample to the next shows how exciting this technology is.
No more tons of samples to simulate legatos and co, everything is done by morphing between the different samples for each note.
This test that I did with Tomofon clearly illustrates the time savings that we would have with this technology.

For me the glide and legato transitions sound natural as do the vibratos even though it's just LFO and morphing.
Only the quality of sampling is not great, and this is one of the faults of resynthesis.

Thank you for shedding light on Hise, who I didn't really know.
I always thought it was a programmer only thing, but it seems like it's accessible for non-coders like me.
