What's new

This introduction to Audio Imperia can save you research time.

This Audio Imperia overview can save you a lot of research time, and it’s my unsponsored love letter to one of the hottest sample library developers out there🔥

I go over their all-in-one orchestras + dedicated orchestral section libraries and include sound examples and a demo.

Audio Imperia are my kings of hybrid orchestral music, and I am excited of what's to come in the future.

PS: let me know if you have any questions about the orchestral AI libraries. I got all, and know them pretty well I'd say. Happy to help :)

Only if they fix the Legato on the Strings in Jaeger which they said so last year.

I'd say its broken. Same thing with Areia (and probably Nucleus, don't they share the same samples?). Strange wobbling.

@zedmaster I really enoyed the video - also because I felt that I got exactly from them what I need (Chorus, Talos, Areia) and although the other libraries have a nice tone and seem to be high quality products it was nice to be able to listen to them in your demos.

The only thing bothering me was the huge misbalance of music and speech. I always had to turn the volume up to listen to the exaples and then quickly turn it down when your voice came in.

Hey, thanks for the valuable feedback. I'll work on my balance for the next one!

Great overview video, @zedmaster. You mentioned Jaeger has extra processing compared to Nucleus, but I’m curious how you arrived at this conclusion.

From what I can tell, Nucleus has the same sound on shared articulations in the Classic and Modern mixes, but is set at a lower volume level than Jaeger, Talos, Areia, etc.

Well they acknowledged but never fixed the Jaeger Strings yet so...
They still haven’t updated Areia string either yet. Broken measures tremolos and still not great legatos (there are some free patches made by users out there that fixes them).

Sad to say I just uninstalled it and will see if they do update it again and if I revisit it. For now pacific and TSS will be my core instead

Audio Imperia said in 2021 that they are working not only on fixing legatos but also on content update.
"Areia is getting a pretty significant legato update"
"Areia is getting a content update too, not just an engine update[...]And the content update will be worth the wait!"
It's been awhile but i'm still waiting - love the sound of Areia

They are not updating anything. 2 years ago they said the same that they are working on a Jaeger fix...and nothing...i moved on.

I know what you mean, but to be fair AI updated Nucleus at the end of last year and released few libraries since 2021: Chorus, Constrictor, Fluid Woods and Brass (and FVDE) so it's not like they are not working on anything.
@audioimperia - any news on Areia?

Thank you for the support!

We spend a good amount of time each year updating the existing catalog actually. Just as an example:

2020: Free Kontakt Player updates for existing owners of Talos, Cerberus, Trailer Guitars 2, Legacy, and Jaeger (which also got a content update). This round of updates in itself took up a good portion of the year.
2021: Free Content Update for Nucleus
2022: Free Content Update for Nucleus again and free Kontakt Player updates for existing owners of Photosynthesis, Klavier, and Artifact Reanimate. Another incredibly time-consuming update period, as it meant consolidating 7 products into 3 products with completely different engines all of which had to be reworked.

So just in the last 3 years alone, we did a total of 10 product updates. Totally understandable that people get frustrated once an expectation for an update is set and that is 100% on me (Jan) as I announced it too early and am now paying the price for being all excited about it (and getting ahead of myself). Lesson very well learned haha.

All we can ask for is understanding and patience as we're working away on the next round of updates as quickly as we can (yes, including Areia. I just don't wanna give too much away at this point and get myself in trouble again :D).

Your efforts are noticed and appreciated, Jan. Take all the time you need.

Except when it comes to giving us a Second Violin button in SOLO. Chop chop!

Takes seconds to set up this way

Sorry for the super low volume. Nothing special happening though.

But a button would be more practical of course.

Btw, I'm pitching 2 semi tones because most libraries are sampled in half-steps (if that's the right terminology).
If it's sampled chromatically 1 semi tone works too. If only every third pitch was sampled it must be 3 semi tones. And so on.
