Review Berlin Studio by Samplicity

I want to share with you my review of Berlin Studio by Samplicity at virtualorchestration.it. This convolution reverb emulates the sound of the Teldex Studio in Berlin. The sound is just incredible and works great on a lot of virtual instruments, especially using close mics. And the best part is that you have control on each mic position available. You can balance them, EQ, and set the size, tail, early reflections and delay amounts. So you have a lot of control on your sound. Definitely one of the best convolution reverbs out there.
Thanks to Samplicity for kindly sending us a copy of the plugin to review.

As long as the orchestral samples you using can be played back dry owithout another room ambience
Is it worth it? Does it makes mixing other non OT (mostly teledex recorded) libraries easy to mix?
As long as the orchestral samples you are using can be played back without an inherent ambience of their own or at the very least be played back using close miked recordings then this plugin is an absolute luxury for all orchestral mock ups and fabulously realistic "sound stage" recordings that can fool anyone they are listening to a real live orchestral performance! Highly recommended!

Berlin Studio is designed to be used in line preferably on bussed stems of orchestral sections so that you will have separate instances for each section of the orchestra being sent to their respective position on the scoring stage.

And yes! once you've bussed everything to their appropriate instance of the plugin it's a doddle to mix with because so much of the work has already been done for you with the plugins natural sound. It's so easy to push back or bring forward any section as you wish by simply adjusting the balance between the original dry signal and the three mics.

This plugin replaces a lot of flaffing around one would otherwise have to do using an aux send/sends to a conventional algorithmic or convolution reverb/reverbs.

Yeah, I agree completely with @river angler
I've tried it with a lot of different sample libraries and it's one of the best convolution reverbs I've ever used. It gives to most of the instruments a beautiful and warm sound. Be sure to use it with dry samples or close mics only so you don't overlap 2 real ambiences together.

Hello , should this be used on a send track ? for example I have all my Violin 1 send to a bus and should I create an FX send towards this plugin or you can simply put the plugin on the Violin 1 Bus and adjust the dry signal from the plugin itself ? Thank you !
