Damn, another EPS library that surprised me a lot. I love how it's always different than i think. With big bams as a name i thought about percussion in huge halls, but it's all close sounds with the sounddesign and the recording that makes the sound big. Well done guys!

Can i ask where you recorded the instruments?

Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear you liked it!

It's a collection of samples from recordings in the legendary Windmill Lane recording studios in Dublin - Ireland, and some Brazilian percussion recorded at Click Audioworks in Curitiba - Brazil.

@EduPrado Congratulations! Big Bams looks really nice.
Unfortunately I am not using K7 yet,I would have bought this immediately if it was available as a K6 library.

Hi Kgdrum,

Thanks so much for your reply, that's good to know.

We had all our libraries made for K6 but full version. Now we've put a lot of work and effort into licensing and releasing this new library with Native Instruments with the intention of making it easier and more accessible to more people, as anyone could download the Kontakt 7 free player if they don't have the full Kontakt...

However, unfortunately, it seems like we were very wrong. I've other people telling us the same.

Can you tell me why you haven't moved to K7, or K7 free? Is that because of the OS version?

If any other composers/producers are reading this thread, can you please let me know if you haven't moved to Kontakt 7 and why?

Would be important for us to know, as we want to make our libraries very accessible. We might need to reach out to NI, as this seems to be going in the opposite direction we were aiming for.

Thanks again for your comment, I really appreciate!

Best,
Edu

Hi Edu,
Yeah I’m using a Cheesegrater Mac Pro ——> OS Mojave.
I actually have K7 but would need a new Mac or have to jump through hoops to move to Catalina on this older MP which I really don’t want to do especially when I consider all of the reports of K7 issues I keep hearing about.
I really don’t think K7 is stable enough at this point in time (for me) to necessitate the move to Catalina and K7 , Kontakt 6 works well enough for me.
Thanks
KG

Have read several reports of kontakt 7 instrument loading being slower than kontakt 6.

That and the new browser/shop are why I haven't upgraded yet.

Same here. Even when K7 is fully loaded, when I switch to a K7 track in my DAW with the plugin window open (Studio One Pro, Win 10) it takes noticeably longer than with a K6 track. Obviously, I do use K7 when needed but I try to avoid it as much as possible.

Sound great, congratulations on the release! I too am on K6 here, unfortunately. I’m staying put on Mojave for as long as I can, due to some legacy software that will break if I update to Catalina.

I was thinking about upgrading for a long while, but the new Logic Version is amazing and for that I updated my OS. And now I am using Kontakt 7 and Kontakt 6 side by side, depending which libraries I use. Seems like Native Instrument is slowly pushing to the K7 direction, all their new products require K7 now.
So I think in 2024 most people will need to update their systems in some way. It's just so difficult to find a good time slot, when you're not in the middle of several projects, so you can actually risk it to update.
