Synchron Duality Strings - The Best of Both Worlds!
Our brilliant new library comes with
14+8 Violins 1
12+6 Violins 2
10+5 Violas
10+5 Cellos and
6+3 Double basses.

Each section combination was recorded performing in Stage A and Stage B of Synchron Stage Vienna at the same time, interconnected via audio and video to be perfectly in sync.
Volume, timbre, vibrato, note length, phrasing are the same for each articulation, allowing you to blend and mix these sounds perfectly.

And thanks to the powerful Synchron Player, nothing stops you from using Stage A or B ensembles on their own, or put them in separate instances (and don't forget that Stage A has a solo mic position for the section leader as well).
You want to emphasize the 1st chair? No problem. Have a more intimate sound without loosing the big Stage A sound? We got you!
Catering your individual sound requirements, you no longer have to layer multiple different libraries to carefully match the sound signatures.
Still, this library fits the sound signature of our Synchron Stage libraries and recordings perfectly and can also be used in combination/layered with other Synchron and SYNCHRON-ized libraries without additional work.

And this is still not all: We offer a consistent set of articulations with tons of variations to give you even more options to dial in your sound.

Here are my personal highlights:
- Détaché Agile: Thanks to repetitions and dynamic release samples, the Détaché will adapt to your performance better than ever before! And there are also additional marcato and soft variations.
- Agile Legato: We have hugely improved our agile/fast legatos. Compared to previous variants, these will not have those sometimes unwanted ringing notes from previous played notes in certain scenarios. Additionally, these can be used to perform runs, trills and ornaments.
- Slurred Legato: These were improved quite a bit, so they are easier to use and a great option to mix with the regular legato.
- Tremolos: Fast, Slow, as well as measured tremolos. Hard to describe, you have to try them out yourself - AND those come with legato connections!

So far - biggest difference I can spot is that Duality has runs and glissandos. Demos are beautiful though. Check out abotu 2 mins in of Guy's demo, and also Levante's first demo flying candles. Really shows off the new articualtions.
 
I’m curious about the Standard version. The Stage B section just comes with the Dark mics though, so it seems the ‘sculpting’ possibilities are more limited. Of course something like this was to be expected so no surprises there.

For me it does sort of raise the need for a separate walkthrough, or at least separate demo audio, of the Std version in order to fully grasp the sonic possibilities of that version as opposed to Full.

Maybe the walkthrough will contain this info, watching that now. Cool, it’s mister Tucmandl himself!

Sounds great! Will Synchron "Duality" be a new line of products (VI, Synchronized, Synchron, Synchron Duality) or just the name of a product?

Good question. It was also my first question to Herb when first hearing about this concept.

The Elite Strings are a different size and sound, so they complement each other.
Synchron Strings Pro have a different sound and concept and also not the exact same articulations (for example it has non-vibrato articulations).

Synchron Duality Strings comes with some other articulations and variants of it. On top of that you get an additional string ensemble recorded in Stage B with a dry sound, allowing to blend between dry and wet or use as seperat dry library with the same articulation set.
Additionally we have put all our experience from recording and sampling in Synchron Stage into this library and improved and fine-tuned our approaches and techniques, resulting in a better overall sound and improved articulations (like the new agile legatos and agile detaches).

I love this approach! This sounds like the best strings VSL has released to date by the sounds of it.

I'm not sure right now. Definitly not during the intro sale, and as always the intro sale will be cheaper compared to any bundle discounts you might get after that.
 
Also, just as a side note I noticed ben mentioned there is new agile legatos and agile detaches, to me from briefly listening to the videos and demos, the legatos sound a marked improvement on the other synchron strings libraries!
