Problems with Crashes using Smart EQ4

As a heads up, I have had to uninstall SM EQ 4 from my system. After initial install on my upgrade (SM3 to 4) I began experiencing numerous crashes on my DAW. (Cake) Even with projects with no SMEQ 4 on them. It had previously been very stable.

Others on the CW forum said the same problems appeared in Reaper and Studio 1. I decided to uninstall SMEQ4 from my system.

That's after trying everything else!

After doing so, all crashes and other weird behavior seems to have stopped. I've never experienced just having a certain plug in my SYSTEM cause problems like this. (I have hundreds of plugins built up thru the years)

I'm pretty shocked this resolved so completely TBH

I'm sure this will be dealt with soon, but in case anyone else out there is tearing their hair out about sudden unexplained crashes, I hope this will help

Interesting, so far I didn't have issues in CB13 and Studio1 V6 but I will follow the thread!
Thanks! I'm interested myself to hear others experiences. I would not have thought to take it off my system if the other people had not reported it with Reaper and S1 on the CW forum. Sounds like this bug may be harder to pin down than I might have hoped. Fortunately for me, I only have 29$ wrapped up in it!

I had tons of issues with Smart EQ 3 crashing when adding a second group in the VST3 version. Thankfully, v4 has been very stable.
Hmmm...Mirror image. SMEQ 3 works fine for me. In fact, that's part of what caught me off guard. I figured an upgrade to 4 would be the least of my problems between Windows, drivers updates, etc.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Maybe mine got corrupted somehow. Still, it was the other reports from people on completely different DAW's that convinced me to uninstall. Uninstalling 4 was the most effective bug kill I've seen in a long time. Kinda shocked actually

Assuming the topic is Sonible, Smart EQ 4 working fine here on Reaper and not seeing any weirdness in other DAWs (Cantabile, Gig Performer, Ableton).

I wonder what went wrong for me and others who posted. Corrupted download some way? Doubtful. Could spend all night making guesses! I'll wait to hear from Sonible before re-installing.

Not a burning issue. My CW is rock solid again after uninstalling SMEQ 4.

Not gonna poke the hornet's nest again! Too much of a workload right now

OK, after further testing I am seeing the same problem in Reaper as others are reporting. I really like the product and hopefully Sonible and/or Cockos can fix the issue soon.

I did a good search just now and found this thread. Smart EQ keeps randomly crashing my studio one 6 sessions to the point that I can't run the session unless I disable all plugins, or as I just did, delete smart eq 4, This really sucks because it's awesome. Has anyone heard of a solution? I'm about to start a ticket with sonnible.

I'm running Ventura still on an M1 Max.

It is a known problem but please do contact support anyway. The issue is sporadic for some and I have not heard back from Sonible for quite a long time since they acknowledged the problem. Not sure what's happening over there.
