I have all the other Slate and Ash libraries and love them to bits, but this isn't doing much for me. The engine looks cool, but I didnt hear anything I would use in the preset play through. The demo tracks sound really good though. I understand this is an experimental library but I've always felt, if I want to be experimental, it's kind of pointless unless I do the expermenting myself. Using someone else's expermental stuff just doesn't inspire me. I'll listen again though as I can't quite believe a S&A library could come out that I wouldn't buy!

Also, I note it says it needs Kontakt 7.70. I'm back on 7.60 as I found the later versions riddled with issues.

Wow, some big names from the experimental world are attached to this. Looks fun, but I’ll have to dive into the features to see if it’s worth the price tag.

$179 for essentially 650 loops is steep, but I trust s+a to create special, transformative engines more than anyone else in the market.

It will never not be weird to me how the 'LES' 'Downtown scene', a loose cadre of truly inspired misfits and one which was actually pretty wild but also relied upon the chance meetings of an array of traditional forms, was slowly infiltrated by graduates of conservatories looking to add those names to their school resumes/bios (the many Bjork/Zorn collaborators) who are now 'experimental' and 'make loops'. A sample library might be a fitting and useful end for them though. Some good sounds.

The granular player looks good. Maybe it'll be sold separately or an add-on to Auras or Landforms (fingers crossed).

Edit- I wonder if this could be a way for them to start their own user pianobook-type thing

Yeah I’m in the same boat. Love everything they’ve made and I own it all but this library doesn’t seem to have the same appeal. I think the price is pretty steep for what it is.

I’ll keep watching all the videos in case I’ve missed something but there’s a good chance I’ll pass on this.

Gotta echo some others here. When I received the email last night, I thought, "Oooh, guess I'm buying a new library." Then I listened to the patches and nothing struck me. Thought maybe I was just really tired. Listened with fresh ears today and I still hear nothing that inspires me or that I would probably ever use. Feels like a fancy SFX library, and as it stands, I could delete half of that sort of content from my computer and not even notice it was missing. First time I pass on an S+A library, and it's not even a tough decision.

I just saw on Instagram someone commenting that you can’t import your own samples which is surprising.

I’m wondering what separates this from Cycles? I’m nowhere near through all of those presets either but they have similar vibes with this current release.

I guess the draw card is the collab with all of those experimental artists. But maybe they should have just released a sample pack as a Cycles add on or something.
