Epic percussion.

Hi guys,

I am looking for some epic percussion. I got the CinePerc Core as my main percussion library. I also have StormDrum 2, Drums of War and Metropolis Ark 1. I am not looking for a traditional library and I don't want to spend a lot of money. First things I found was Soundiron's Apocalypse Elements, Red Rooms Saga and Auddict's Drums of the deep 2. I am mostly after the toms and other drums, I got cymbals covered. I started this search after I tried using Drums of war on a moderately fast beat I created. It was just too wet and muffled. So, I am looking for a dryer library to compliment what I already have. All suggestions are welcomed.

Cheers,

-Hannes

I’m not sure about dry libraries myself but I use Cineperc and Metropolis Ark 3 for percussion. The amount of room sound in MA3 is perfect to my ears.

APE is really great for its price point, I layer in underneath HZ Percussion to give it extra bite!

That's probably what I am looking for, not to replace my libraries but to compliment them.

I pretty much use the percussion in Albion ONE exclusively, it's really great, I know HZ Percussion is also very highly thought of and it has a lot of options, the Junkie XL mixes are also insanely huge sounding. Damage is also a great library for epic stuff.

Damage is great for epic percussion, you can mix the three mic positions or tinker with the reverb to dry out the out-of-the box sound if it's too wet.

I just picked up 8Dio's Tiako Ensemble for 68 bucks on sale this weekend through April 10th.
Normally around $200.00 so quite a deal. It's some of the best percussion out there.

I love all of them. Got APE, HZ Perc, CinePerc, Dums of War... I guess APE got a great price (when the price matters :)

I'd second Spitfire's Hans Zimmer Percussion. It's massive. Bit costly, but you get what you pay for.
