Mac - How To Have Oxygen Pro 61 Keyboard Locate & Trigger Vienna Symphonic Library Patches

Hi Everybody,

I have been using Vienna Symphonic Library Virtual Instruments with Mac Finale Notation (v26) for many years.
However I have never used a Midi Keyboard Controller with Virtual Instruments, and my tech abilities are limited to Plug & Play.
Now I would like to use a Keyboard to play these Library Patches (or Instruments, or Plug-Ins, or whatever they are called).

I am using an iMac Pro with OS 10.15.7 (Catalina) with a new Oxygen Pro 61 USB Midi Keyboard Controller.
I occasionally use a Cubase 10.5 DAW ... but I do not need it for any foreseeable use with the KB Controller.
With regard to the KB, I Do Not Need To Use Any Sliders, Knobs, Pads, Or Chords, Arpeggios, Scales, Etc.;
I WILL MAKE ANY NEEDED SETTINGS / ADJUSTMENTS IN MY VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT LIBRARIES .

I Only Need The KB To Play - Audition Chords And Progressions, And
I Would Like It To Play Single VSL Virtual Instrument Patches (e.g., A Piano, String, Wind, Or Brass Patch).

I have tried telling the Keyboard (orally) where to find the Patches, but I know it doesn't understand me, and
much worse, I don't know how to help it.

WE NEED A WAY FOR OXYGEN PRO TO FIND AND TRIGGER MY VSL VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS

Any Assistance Anyone Can Provide Would Be Very, Very Much Appreciated,

I FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION
I WENT INTO VSL AUDIO / MIDI PREFERENCES
SET MIDI TO OXYGEN PRO 61 USB MIDI (INCLUDING QUARTET, MY AUDIO INTERFACE) ... THIS IS A SINGLE ENTRY COMBINING BOTH
HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ... IT TOOK ME DAYS TO SOLVE

Please don't create multiple threads on the same subject
Sorry ... I posted the first one in the wrong place, and posted the 3rd one when Tech Support appeared in one of the groupings (thinking it to be different from all others). Could not find a way to delete them.

Hi All,

After 3 weeks of buying and returning 2 Midi KB Controllers, and trying to get my 3rd (Oxygen Pro 61) to work, I finally found the simple solution myself ... And it's not with the Keyboard as I had expected ... its in the Virtual Instruments Player.

TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER-BASED VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT STANDALONE PLAYER >

OPEN IT'S AUDIO / MIDI PREFERENCES (Icon) >

SET MIDI TO USB MIDI KB NAME; (MAY INCLUDE YOUR AUDIO INTERFACE NAME) ... THIS IS A SINGLE ENTRY COMBINING BOTH >

KEYBOARD PLAYS VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT PATCHES

IN MY CASE I OPENED MY VIENNA INSTRUMENTS PRO STAND-ALONE PLAYER > CLICKED ON THE PREFERENCES ICON > SELECTED OXYGEN PRO 61 USB MIDI CONTROLLER

HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE
