Newbie with cinematic studio solo strings question

I recently downloaded the cs solo strings. I presume I need Kontakt to route the tracks to my DAW (cakewalk by bandlab). I was curious if i just needed the Kontakt player or Kontakt itself to accomplish that. Sorry for such a stupid question. I know with addictive drums you have to go through the addictive drum console to route individual drums to separate tracks. I'm guessing it's somewhat the same?

I don't use Cakewalk but you should be fine with Kontakt Player.

I'm curious what you mean with routing; it sounds like you want to use Kontakt in stand-alone and feed audio to your DAW, which shouldn't be necessary. Is it possible in Cakewalk to load software instruments as tracks (like in most DAWs)?

Welcome! Feel no shame for asking simple questions. Yes, Kontakt is the 'console' as you put it, that you need to load the instrument. The Kontakt Player, the free version, will work perfectly with Cinematic Studio Series products.

thanks. I'll learn. Yeah, i thought i could get by with the player, but the sounds they have, I think was probably worth the sounds. Thanks, just not sure how the program loads the instrument, directly like bbc so. Easy midi/audio track.

The general consensus is, if you think you're really going to get into composing, you might as well get it now (since it's on sale), because you'll wish you did later down the line. Kontakt is the most used sampler out there, so you'll eventually find a virtual instrument you really want, only to make its price point 300 dollars higher, if it requires the full version.

Especially with the $50 off a $100 or more purchase coupon. For the first time ever (I think), this NI coupon actually works on items already on sale.
