Professional Lurker
Hello! I'm a broke student, a hobbyist composer, and a professional lurker who's finally decided to introduce himself.
I've been attempting original music in a lot of genres for about 7 years but have been twiddling with DAWs for longer. I hope to become a game designer who can make his own tunes, but I'd be happy to score for other games/film too. My sample library addiction stems from a childhood obsession with "realistic soundfonts" that I'd use to "remaster" old Nintendo game music. Years later I'm spending too much on string libraries and enjoying it like many of you. I'm too lazy most of the time to upload my work though, but I'll get to it... eventually.
My biggest inspiration is probably music from Japanese games (particularly Mario games) and anime, but I enjoy a variety of genres beyond that and like learning about new kinds of music. I really like this forum and consider it a go-to when I need to research instruments/techniques and figure out if a library is worth my limited funds. So, I hope to give back to this community in some way by putting out some posts of my own.
Do you have a favorite instrument or instruments? As a jazz/funk kind of guy, bass guitars make me feel things, and I'd love to learn the saxophone at some point.
