Regarding a couple of things about the forum

I've seen a couple of threads - one asking about the composer database and the other asking about google bot indexing of the site.

FIrst, there was a fatal error with the composer database. Its more extensive than I realized - so that needed to be repaired. Therefore I needed to deactivate it pending repairs by a knowledgeable technician experienced in PHP coding.

Secondly, even without the Googlebots, VI has been getting 8 million hits per month. What was happening is that we began to have up to four googlebots and a couple of affiliates indexing the forum simultaneously. This began to affect bandwidth - meaning that members began to complain about how slow the access to the forum began to show up.

Both instances are perfect examples why I've had to re-double efforts for raising the necessary funds to move the server over to larger dedicated server. We also need to hire the necessary PHP talent to get the forum to the next level. Both cost more money but the latter is the larger part of the expenses.

These need to be handled and are more of an indication of expansion not contraction. I hope this explains some things as to why I have been far more aggressive in raising funds this time than in the past.

Best,

Frederick
