Hi,
I am having Soniccouture Hammersmith Pro and I like ist sound in general very much. However, I get some strange resonances, which sound quite unpleasant, especially in headphones. When I listen to audio examples on the Hammersmith's page, I do not hear any such artifacts at all.
For...
In Damage 1, I am trying to use the loop samples directly as single hits in their respective percussive kits. However I don't seem to find them there. Is there an easy way to know which sample belongs to which kit?
I know that it's possible to play the samples directly from the single loops...
I'm not sure if that's the right term, but I'm looking for instrument libraries that fit that Southern USA (swamps, bayous, Louisiana etc.) / Americana / American Gothic vibe, like banjos, old pianos, soloed fiddle/string instruments, upright basses, resonator guitars etc. Anything that has that...

Hi all,
I have BBC PRO and overall I'm pleased with it as a simple 'one stop shop' for orchestral work, however I'm interested in a library/libraries that would compliment it's shortcomings, particularly in the brass, specifically with the horns and trumpets. I'm also interest in libraries that...
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this...do you find sample libraries too expensive in today's day and age? Personally, I think it's all relative (compared to hiring real musicians, the cost, lifetime access), and so there's no one right answer.
It's entirely dependent on your own situation...
I'm deciding between Orchestral Tools Berlin Series + Duplex Saxophones, Spitfire Studio Orchestra Professional, and Spitfire Symphony Orchestra.
Orchestral Tools allows for a la carte purchase and downloading and the demos sound really solid but they're generally more expensive.
Spitfire...
Hey friends! I wanted to share with you a quick video going over my personal string writing process.
I've been fortunate to do string arrangements for my clients (including Tina Guo, RoomieOfficial, and others), so hopefully it's of some use to you. Please enjoy!
There's a gap in my orchestral template!
My percussion section is mostly complete. Most instruments come from the excellent Abbey Road Orchestra, the harps from Berlin Symphonic Harps and the pianos from OT Orchestral Grands. But when it comes to tuned percussion... I only have Spitfire's Joby...
I recently purchased Afterglow from Spitfire Audio, downloaded it, launched Logic and Kontakt, just to discover it doesn't work and I can't figure it out. I go thru all the files, but when I click the actual instrument to load it in, it only half works. By that I mean the controls and such load...

I’m looking for something very specific here. I have the Emotional Cello/viola/violin and while I think they’re great and very useful, the legato transitions leave a LOT to be desired.

Last week, I shared my thoughts and an overview of Orchestral Tools! This week, let's take a look at one of the other best in the business, Spitfire Audio. We'll cover topics such as their vision, pricing, workflow, marketing, and more. Enjoy!
When trying to use the Opus software in FL Studio, it works just fine and loads samples and everything, then after a while of it being open and I try to replace the instrument with something else, it doesn't load the samples. It only loads the UI for the instrument and everything is clickable...
I have Edna Earth and moved the samples to another drive, so when I load up a patch I get the error "Content missing".
So I locate samples and it works.
But next time when I load the same patch, I get the same error and I have to search again.
What method is there of saving the patch so it...

Hi all
Noob question here, I generally compose and arrange orchestral and cinematic music using libraries such Berlin Inspire and Metropolis Ark. I know that when composing many contemporary styles of music certain instruments/percussion are recorded in mono and others in stereo e.g a kick or...
Sometime last year, I started to have seemingly random pitch drift of some samples on my host. Thought it was some residual build up on my template. Mostly with Albion strings.
fast forward to today I finished a completely new template. Immediately having drift on some of my woodwind samples...

Hi folks,
After a millennium of postponing my YouTube project, I've finally decided to start one with perhaps a series of videos on orchestral music in Ambisonics (HOA specifically); therefore the idea primarily concerns writing and production techniques when using orchestral samples for...

Hi everyone
I recently purchased an Accelsior 4M2 NVMe SSD from which to stream samples. It claims transfer speeds up to 6000MB/s, which is in theory much faster than the previous drive I was using, a Glyph Atom USB-C External SSD, which claimed speeds of 960MB/s.
However, in practice, the...
Hey guys, I made a video where I talk about the libraries that I REGRET buying.
I know everyone is different and all of our template will be different, so something I regret buying might be someone else's favourite library of course, but here are 3 libraries I regret buying and 2 that I loved +...
Hey friends! In today's video, I'm pleased to bring on fellow composer and YouTuber Joshua Sohn! As many of you have asked questions about percussion writing, arranging, and orchestration, I thought it only appropriate that we do a dedicated video on percussion by someone who specializes in...
Yo, how can I make samples which will sound like these CuBeatz ones?
They don't have much top end & they sound so clear and exciting.
If I cut off high frequencies of my melodies to get similar results - it always sounds so muddy and low quality.
How can I make my melodies to sound clear like...

Has anyone used The Orchestra vst instrument?
Has anyone had any paid projects using it (film, tv, library work) ?
How do the samples compare with other libraries?
Hi everyone,
I hope all is well and staying safe and healthy out there.
I have a quick question. I'm currently directing/co-composing a documentary film called The Hills I Call Home, which takes place in the middle of the American Appalachian mountains, and it covers a small community in...
Well actually I think I have an answer after a night of scouring the web for demos: most of the demos i found are either not very helpful for the type of music I want to write with them right now (more traditional orchestral stuff) or they are simply horrible demos. Aside from a few short and...
Maybe these questions are dumb, but here we go.
I'm relatively new to this, so explain like I'm five.
I'm kind of confused by the whole copyright thing. As I publish my tracks, they will ask me if I use samples from other tracks, which I don't. Nonetheless, "everything is 100% from me" is kind...
To preface, this subject falls somewhere between sample libraries, notation, and orchestration.
I've recently come to my senses and realized that there are many aleatoric FX, etc. that bread and butter sample libraries don't typically come with. To clarify, I'm speaking not of pre-recorded...
I´ve came across these two libraries when looking at some of Alan Meyerson´s videos on YouTube and found out he probably mixed LA Modern Percussion. I´ve got two questions about the libraries.
1) Does anybody use LA Modern Percussion? I´ve partly watched the walkthrough and they seem pretty...
Hello VI Control.

I'm looking for some Bulgarian choir samples or it is just my bad interpretation of the actual style, but I hope you get what I mean from the tracks. Does something like that actually exist, because I couldn't find much on the internet.
Looking for something in the style of this:

How does one go about pricing their virtual instruments? Say you found a really cool sounding piano or something, recorded it, and concluded there's some cool and unique content in there worth selling to the world. What next? I'd assume you'd go through something like Kontakt hub, but how can...
Hi everyone !
I discovered this freebie recently and was a bit puzzled at first. I guess it is meant to add an element of realism and cohesiveness to a mix made of perfectly processed virtual libraries. I read someone's comment that said it added some kind of subtle "texture" to the sound...
If you could choose only one per category, i.e (Solo Strings, would be separate from the orchestral range of string libraries). Which Libraries are a must-have and why?
I am trying to build myself a collection of libraries that I would be able to compose almost any orchestral score with...
I have heard of them on some animated TV show.
I've been trying to find which libraries/plug-ins have these samples, they seem to be specific like the Symphobia 1 rips.
Do you recognize any of these bowed/waterphone sounds and know what library these sounds are from as shown in the links I...
So this is part question, part personal anecdote from my own setup.
I currently have a Linux server that I use as a NAS with 3x1TB SSDs with all of my samples on them. Back when I built this SSD's were really $$$ so it seemed like a good idea at the time.
The server has a Mellanox Infiniband...
Hey All on VI,
Recently I deleted some recorded vocals that were stored in an "Untitled folder," they weren't contained in my Cubase Project Folder. After trying multiple data recovery programs, each program that was able to locate them and recovered, every time the WAV file came was corrupt...
I decided to pull up 19 different Spiccato String libraries and test which one sounds the best (at the time of making this video). I tested Spitfire Audio's Albion One, Albion Legacy, Albion 2 Loegria, Albion 3 Iceni, Mural (Legacy), Spitfire Symphonic Strings, Hans Zimmer Strings, BML Sable...
Sample Logic just released a super clean-looking percussion library called "Drum Fury". This is a full walkthrough of the plugin. I test out the samples and give it a good run!
Watch here:
I know the strings/brass-samples are custom made, but I can not find out what f.ex SO 2fl legato etc is. I see Berlin Woodwinds, Albion 1 Legacy/ONE, but I'm stuck at the flutes!
Any takers? :)
Hi,
after simply ignoring Battery 4 for years cause the included drum kits where just not my thing I realized with the new NI expansions there is really interesting stuff in it for my ambient/chill etc. kind of songs.
Now a probably dumb question but I have not used samplers a lot (prefer...
I'm getting a new PC Slave, Currently been using a single Mac. So my samples all reside on a Mac formatted SSD drive.
But I still want to be able to move the drive to my MacBook Pro when I'm mobile.
So should I format the sample drive as NTFS and then use Paragon NTFS on my Mac's to access the...
I'm talking pedal noise/chick, shell/rack hits, throne creaks, otherwise unorthodox sounds you just don't get with NI abbey road, XLN etc. Ambiences as well.
Need them for a current project and can't find any. My 8dio bassoon has breath and click samples included, Una Corda has a wealth of...
So right now the strings options for someone who uses only dry samples are

Am I missing...
Hello,
I really need a Solo String Library, as I haven't got one; I also am a student and don't want to bust the bank.
For the rest of the orchestra I am using EW Hollywood Orchestra Diamond.
At first I thought about the new Spitfire Solo Strings, but heard some bad things about their...
This was voted for in the poll last time as well, so here it is! This one was a long time coming, as I have owned this product almost a year, and have had quite an eventful time trying to get it to work. I held off on a review, simply because I wanted to give Auddict a chance to correct the...

Hi folks,
Cutting to the chase: which decent-sounding orchestral library would you recommend? I love the Spitfire Symphony Orchestra, but does their cheaper alternative Albion One really cut it?
Taking the scenic route: pardon the Jedi plagiarisms in the thread title, but it sums up where...
Hi,

Hi everyone,
I'd like to know if there is a way to deal with the duplicated samples that pile up in the samples folder of an instrument after any wave edition.
I understand the usefullness to keep old versions of the sample I'm working on, but at some point, when I'm happy with the patch, I'd...
Hello,
I write a lot of symphonic music in Logic Pro X using samples (mostly from Spitfire Audio). I have been asked by someone to show a score for some cues and as I don't have any finished sheet music. I don't have much experience with sheet music and notation for all instruments so was...
Hi guys, I was just wondering if there are any other subscription services available, similar to EW? I have very limited income (300/mo.), so any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you :)
Hi all, I'm new to this forum so please bear with me on formatting and the like.
I am building a collection of vocal samplers at the moment and was wondering if anybody new of a fancy way of batch pitch correcting all of my samples at once.
They all have the intended pitch written into the...

Thought these drum libraries needed a spotlight as they're so good and only $15 each. I use them loads.
This is playing through eight different kits for eight bars each. No talking, no nonsense. Just the important stuff.
Hello,
I've been working with HISE for a couple of years now and I've been putting together some tutorial videos going over the basics. I'll be adding more when I have time and going into more complicated topics.
Happy New Year everybody. Right then, I’ve got a question that could likely be filed under ‘quite obvious’, but it’s slowed down my process. It’s about hits in trailer music, but wait, not the big ones that are normally a puzzle, I’m good with those big spectrum filling impacts et al. No, what...

Hello Everyone!
I was just wondering if generally you guys would be interested in fully mapped out / custom created presets for BT Phobos.
Along with that, how much would you be willing to pay for a pack that had say 50 presets for BT Phobos?
Thank you in advance for your answers! :2thumbs:

I'm thinking of biting the bullet on Spitfire's wonderful Symphonic Brass library due to the Black Friday sale. Very recently I removed every ensemble patch from my template in an attempt to force myself into writing multiple trumpet/horn lines within the same section (ala Berlin Brass). It was...
