Hello,
I haven't posted here in a while.
Here is my latest track. It started as a piano only composition while messing with my keyboard but I ended up giving it an orchestral arrangement as it was quite "military".
I would love some thoughts. What would you have done differently ?

01. INTRODUCTION
We’re proud to introduce a groundbreaking trailer sound effects...
This is my first vocal track. As the producer I was responsible for the instrumental part and overall mixing and mastering. I'd like to hear your thoughts, especially on the mix, as this probably won't be my last "vocal + epic orchestra" kind of track!
Hi composers,
I share my second composition in the genre of orchstral filmmusic. I'm a hobbyist and kind of perfectionist tweaking every little note until I got deaf hearing my own work over and over again.
Structure is probably the weak part of the piece. I planned it far shorter than it is...
This is a common figure for strings in the romantic era, principally by Strauss, and later influenced the early hollywood film music. How good can virtual performances come close to this "defined but undefined chorus sound" ? Do you have any examples ? Look at the strings right at the start...

I'm in the market for an epic choir library, especially for short staccato notes. I already have 8dio Lacrimosa for the sustains which I am happy with, but the shorts leave something to be desired. I have it in my head that I want the Sterzlov choir package because Storm Choir ultimate seems...
Not had a chance to write anything in a while so while I had a bit of down time I thought "okay, try to come up with something within the next 2 hours" and came out with this.
Figured that despite the fact I complain about this "epic" sound and how it's overused I should try it at least once.
Hi, this is my latest (6th) Soundtrack - Distant Hope. I am still keeping it in a 'safe zone' considering different aspects. I would like to hear any feedback for orchestration, balance and mix or anything else that you notice on the way. I knoe there is a lot of room for improvement here. Thanks!
I'm thinking of going for Zebra (standard) and wonder about Zebra drum libraries that would make libraries like Damage unnecessary (for now)?
I already bought Keep-Forest Evolution and Atlantica, Auddict Drums of the Deep, and Micro-Apocalypse drums, maybe other ones.
Are there killer Zebra...
Hey everyone! This is my tribute to the Assassin's Creed series. It consists of nine sections and in total it has mostly orchestral, hybrid, rock/metal and oriental elements, as well as some hints to Jesper Kyd's "Ezio's Family". Hope you enjoy this track; the connoisseurs of the AC lore may...
I have had a 3 year break. But now I have started composing again.
Sorry that I did not find this topic before, but here is my promotion of my latest epic track:

Hi, some of you will maybe remember me from 2017-2019.
I quit composing in 2019, but now after 3 years I am starting again.
Almost all my libraries are intact, except for Komplete Ultimate 11...
I am a 42 year old Norwegian composer. I use Logic Pro, and I love to make epic music.
Here is...
Hi everyone! It feels good to be back at the forum :2thumbs:. I'm a composer that mainly focuses on epic music, and because of that I tend to use the brass this way:
* Trumpets: Melodies or stacatto kind of rhythmic / harmonic accompaniment.
* Horns: BIG melodies or very soft harmonies, mainly...
Ping sounds are a great musical device to give a track a consistent element. They are also great to connect multiple segments in a track.
But how do I create this kind of sounds ? I don't wanna use synths. They just have a narrow and static (symthetic) sound to it. I would prefer to use organic...
Hi this is the first time i post one of my composition here i hope that you like but mostly that you have advice to give me in order to improve it.
in my opinion the weakest part is Percussion, and Brass.I use the BBSO Brass sections and they are a little too classical for this type of genre i...
I am attaching one of my later tracks called Dynasty, please listen to it if you wish!
I have been attempting orchestral composition for a few years now and I feel I've stagnated a bit. I think the quality of my music is okay, but I have had a hard time finding any jobs in the area. This is...
Hello!
I'm only an amateur, so I realize that there are much better compositions here. I just want to share my music and get critique from better composers than I am.
The recording of guitar could be better, but I have absolutely no experience in that matter. Only few YouTube videos. If you...
Hope everyone's doing well! I just posted a video about these two Spitfire libraries from the Hans Zimmer range, just diving into the ways I like to use them. I figured they might be useful to folks over here, especially with all the sales happening right now.
I've added chapters so you can...
This is just a note to myself about some libs, but might be useful so feel free to comment if you have more details.
Zero-G Ethera Gold 2.5

maybe there are better options if you want very specific lib, but I...
Okay, so after working on this for 20 hours I've decided that this is the best I can do with this piece just now. I'm not 100% happy with it which is a shame because I think this piece could be the really good but every time I think I know what the piece needs it just never sounds right. So...
Hoa everyone. I haven't done much orchestral music although I hope that will change soon with a few purchases that I have done lately. Here I bring you one of the most recent tests using libraries such as Audiobro Modern Scoring Strings, NI Damage, NI Action Strikes, etc.
I hope you like it...
Hi together,
just released a ("old school epic") track to try out my newly finished Metropolis Ark template, which includes all four libraries of the series. Going to use it more often in the future.
Besides that, there is Strezov Sampling Wotan Male Choir in there, NI Session Guitarist Picked...
Went back to a piece that I had started some time last year. I think this is starting to sound pretty good. A few sections I'm not sure about but there's some ideas I think that are quite good. Let me know what you all think :emoji_slight_smile:

Hello everyone !
So i've been listening a lot of epic hybrid orchestral music lately, and i thought it would be a good idea to give a try making one myself.
Some of you will understand from where i took inspiration.
I used in order
Woods : Berlin (just the flutes and piccolo for accents and...
Hello!
I'm working on my next song. It's not mastered yet and there's some noticeable clipping. This is the first minute of the track.
If you have any comments, critique, or such as; please leave a comment here. Thank you! :)
We did a bit experimental project with a friend of mine: he composed chiptune layers, I layered them with epic orchestration and a third guy mixed / mastered / produced the final outcome
Oh, look. It's a video that's not about strings.

Edit: I'm happy to announce the Big Bang Orchestra: Andromeda Expansion

Hi everyone,
I created this piece for a competition and thought I would share it here.
The track is called "Call of the King", and my intent was to make it sound heroic and powerful.
Let me know what you think!
... and of course I don't even dare to compare it to Gustav Holsts original, but it must have been an inspiration in some parts.
This track is almost a year old, not in 5/4 and a rather traditional approach (?) to the overused term of "epic music", therefore I somewhat tried to keep it realistic...

At the loudest part in your compositions, do you Programm the complete orchestra playing fff or do you keep the lower stuff softer and the higher instruments louder ?
And is it true that orchestral instruments should be played softer in order to sound better/fuller ?
If you play brass softer...

Hello everyone!
This is a demo track that I've composed as an audition for the "Day of Dragons" video game.
The music had to be inspired by "How To Train Your Dragon" films' soundtracks.
Another composer is now officially hired, so I decided to share my work with the world and maybe get some...

Right, so I'm composing for a fan video game project at the minute, which for the most part has been going well so far, but I've been asked to score a level that previously had no music. It has to be a minute-long loop of combat music that evokes massive frenetic tension and danger. The...
Hello everyone.
I have read in many forums about the difficulty of using 'Hans Zimmer Strings - Spitfire' in more 'classic' productions, so I wanted to do this experiment by producing the famous 'Sarabande' by George Frideric Handel using this library together with 'Forzo' for brass instruments...

Hi, VI!
