Hi all before I ask my question I'm not referring to 'layering' different libraries (unless that's the only way to do it).
What I'd like to know is how would you go about using an orchestral section from 1 wet library and using that with the other sections of another wet library. Say for...
Hi friends - I'm starting a small film score project where there are some scenes needing subtle, creative, intimate percussion. The percussion really will be exposed a lot of the time, and I think "conversational" as per the director's wish.
The budget is small, so my plan is to try to get...
Hi All.
The sale season is approaching, and I need some dry strings (or at least more dry than what I have). I’m talking about close-mics without room tone.
I’ve been using a bunch of Spitfire string libraries (Chamber, Symphonic, BH, LCO, a bunch of Albions, Solo Strings, Alt Solo Strings...
Hello. After investing in several piano VSTs I have come to the conclusion that I prefer those which provide the option of drier samples / sounds. Vienna Imperial and Pianoteq 7 Standard with reverb disabled seem to do the trick. The samples in Ivory II American Concert D, although not...
Hey guys, I made a video where I talk about the libraries that I REGRET buying.
I know everyone is different and all of our template will be different, so something I regret buying might be someone else's favourite library of course, but here are 3 libraries I regret buying and 2 that I loved +...
I am a newbie. I am looking for a violin patch that's quite DRY/non-reverberant, takes it easy on the vibrato too, and has some long notes included. A patch that's plain and simple in style, as if one were playing a fiddle at home. And I'm not having a lot of luck! Wet wet echo-y wet is almost...

I've been looking at the Orchestral Tools and SoundIron's Choir libraries and have been wondering how dry the samples are. I like Spitfire a lot but sometimes the samples inherent reverb (since they're recorded in Air Studios) can be problematic so I've been curious whether I want to supplement...
It might be the most basic of questions but I'm curious to know whether people tend to compose (and/or orchestrate) with reverb or whether this is best left to the mixing stage - and the benefits of doing it either way?
I've always thought Chris Hein has amazing solo instruments.
I wonder, has anyone ever composed for a Christ Hein Solo Orchestra? As in, his solo strings, solo woods, and solo brass together to make a very small orchestral sound?
