I'm new to writing for strings, but quite experienced as a producer/composer. Looking to improve in this niche style. The purpose of the track is a background music for a combat sequence, chase scene, etc. in a video game. You can find the song on youtube here:

Hello,
I was wondering what libraries you all can recommend for those short string staccatos/spiccatos that we often have in epic trailer music. I have the CSS library but am not really able to get that desired sound out of those.
I already have VSL Synchron Strings Pro, but I'd like to add divisi to it. It seems that SStPro have great devisi options, and its dry sound could let me blend it with Synchron Strings Pro fairly easily.
Do you guys think it'd be a better choice than SCS? Would SCS be hard to blend with The...

Hi, I'm working on a Nordic / Slavic hybrid folk album and I'm looking for a good textured "frozen" strings library, preferably with legatos. I need dark ambient / drone sounds as well as some good solo instruments for faster and slower solos. These are the libraries that I know about:
Originals...
A brand new video from The Sampleist. Marcus Manderson takes us through the stunning news sounds of Pacific Strings by Performance Samples. Performance Samples was kind enough to provide us a copy of the library for review.
Legato is used a lot for lyrical emotional passages. In these moments you need a good end of phrase (abphrasieren) . This means a change of attack and change of timbre in the last note, principally when it comes to apoggiaturas or "female" cadences.
Why many libraries just leave you alone...
I find that a lot of the string libraries are too far into the cinematic/orchestral side of things, but i'm looking for something that's a little more humble. I don't want that big epic concert violin sound, i'm looking for something that's more dry, imperfect, characteristic, non-generic...
Anybody know any Kontakt libraries or any VSTs in general which offer experimental orchestral articulations?
Looking for something like Sandstorm by Hans Zimmer, from the DUNE OST.
HI!
I feel that this feature is just not present enough. Any idea of which of the main libraries gives you the option to control vibrato by fader on sus/leg patches , making a good impressive vibrato?
Hyperion strings has this, but for exmaple, it it is not intensive enough for my ears. CSS...

What are your thoughts on Sonivox Symphonic Strings? Do you think it beats other string libraries like Synchron, Spitfire Symphonic, Cinematic Studio Strings, or CineStrings?

Any thoughts ?
Hi there! I want to share with yo my review of Nørdic Cello by Have Audio on Virtual Orchestration.IT. This library, part of the Nørdic series, features a solo cello recorded at Have Studios in Madrid using peculiar playing techniques that remind of desolated, icy and nordic landscapes. The Ice...
Hey everyone,
In my quest for niche 40s/50s/60s super-romantic strings, I've been looking for a really particular sound / playing style that pretty much doesn't exist in any library. It's basically super expressive playing, rich, fingered, almost chaotic legato transitions, and passionate...

Hi ,

I'm curious which flautando articulations folks like the best.
I understand the Spitfire Chamber Strings flautando is the "gold standard" for some. But I'm not interested in the full library, and $700 is a lot to pay for access to one articulation. Any other favorites?

Hi folks,
I was wondering if anybody has had success at achieving convincing long slow descending string glissandos with Spitfire string libraries, similar to what the strings are doing in the track "The Factory" from 06:02 - 06:19 in HZ's "No Time to Die" soundtrack?
A client has requested...
