I made a demo for Musio! - "Wonders Above" (fantasy/sci-fi)

Hey all!

I recently got asked to do a demo for Musio, and it's finally here!!

This is an epic fantasy/sci-fi sort of track, with a feeling of "discovery" that I wanted to capture.

I think this is one of my best tracks to date, and my favorite part is the epic climax at 0:45. So I'd appreciate it if you stayed for that! And feel free to leave some feedback :)

Special thanks to Mike (@Cinesamples), and the Musio team for this opportunity! Composing with Musio was such a blast 🙏🏼

Stunning composition. I loved it. That Climax was epic 👌 all genres mixed with Epic is just 🌩️ I left you comment on YouTube video but for some reason it got deleted...

Wow! That’s one of the best Musio demos I’ve heard. Great sense of sweep and scale and the ending is dope. I’m sure Mike and the crew are super happy as the track presses all the “buy Musio now” buttons! A question and a thought: Were those the Cinestrings Pro legato violins on the main theme? I’m just asking because I really like them in isolation, but in context, they do seem to “pump” a little in the transitions at that slow tempo. Also, are you using some kind of electronic sub-bass doubling? Whatever that is, it sounds great!

Sorry for the very late reply! I just saw your comment. I'm using Cinestrings Core on this track actually. And yes, I did use a sub bass! I used one of the pad patches in the Soundscapes library in Musio.

In terms of legato transitions, I'd be curious to know how it would sound if you swapped the core violins out for the cinestrings pro expressive violins. If you ever have a moment, I'd love to know if it makes a noticeable difference. Thanks!

Of course! I'll render some audio when I open my computer tomorrow. :)

Hey! Apologies for the super late reply again, I gotta prepare for a film project right now hehe.

So here's what the melody sounds like with the CS Pro violins using the fingered legato:

For me personally, I still prefer the Cinestrings Core violins. For this specific track at least. :)

Thanks for replying with the test audio. I think I understand why you prefer the core, but I like violins to play melodies like this very sustained and smooth. I even sometimes used poly legato overlapped longs to get what I need if the legato scripting isn't sostenuto enough.

Anyway congrats on the film project! 😊
