I had an idea which might be unworkable, I really don’t know. A bit like how eBay save search function works; if you have a word or words (maybe tags too?) that you could save and if a new topic or post is added that contains that in the title or body of the post then you receive an email.
I can see that this might potentially lead to an enormous amount of emails if the search term is too common. So perhaps it should be limited to new threads and the titles only? Also if there is a way to exclude common search terms then maybe that would be a good idea? For example, searching for “library” might be too common, but searching for a developer’s name or library name would be allowed.
Anyway, I hope that makes sense. If eBay can do this then perhaps it is possible. I’m just not sure how hard it would be to program in.
