A new interview with John Williams was published yesterday at symphony.org (The League of American Orchestras).
My impression was it's mostly general or well known stuff, but I was struck by this bit about classical vs 20th century harmony:
"It's simple music / My tastes have become quite simple"......
I'm sure he doesn't mean it as in "basic", but any other word I try (acessible, streamlined) doesn't seem to fit with what he's trying to say.
