EDIT: I've meanwhile retracted this request and asked the moderators to delete the thread. I apologize for not recognizing in advance how this kind of outreach is problematic when you can't publicly disclose your identity (yet). Will do better next time.

This developer of a high-end application for composing and arranging music supported by A.I. is looking for a composer/arranger in the cinematic orchestral genre for professional feedback and advice on demo scores. Preferred themes are SciFi, adventures, epic stuff.

Initial advice will be in exchange for a NFR license. New demo scores, libraries or video tutorials (made with the tool) are optional and negotiable. Personal assistance with the learning curve is provided.

VSL Synchron Prime Edition as a shared basis for data exchange is a huge plus.

To be clear, this tool won't diminish anyone's future job opportunities (quite the opposite). The demos and libraries are useful merely for beginners to get started and for hobbyists to enjoy making music for the fun of it. Professionals always feed the app with their own source material.

Please PM me with a link to your work and your desired compensation for making libraries, demo scores or video tutorials. This is somewhat adventurous pioneering, I just need a ballpark figure.

@cornucopia Since you are a new member on these boards and this your first post, may I suggest you provide some background information, your real name etc., or some links to a business website to enable the composers / interested parties on here to verify this is a bona fide offer?

Of course this website offers the opportunity to create anonymous avatars and we all use / abuse that to a certain extent, but it is not necessarily a good business practice - I feel - to not provide the oportunity for potential partners to gauge who they’d contemplate doing business with?

Thanks for considering to provide additional information.

Also: welcome here! This is an awesome place.

Thanks, yes that's a valid concern. I thought keeping a low profile was in order, as I didn't want to shamelessly plug the product without buying advertising. Neither did I want to attract too much attention to it before having said demos, tutorials and libraries in place and buying advertising.

I may be overthinking this, but what about this: I promise to reveal business details with my first response to every DM (would have done that anyway). I'll also be fine with rectracting this request and thinking up alternative ways. Let me know.

That sounds absolutely fair to me. Mind you: I don’t have or represent any authority on here. I’m just a no-lifer who sort of lives here ;)

Your proposition is fine; I just figured I’d voice some academic concerns - more or less to help you. Your answer is entirely reasonable, so FWIW I’d propose you just go ahead as planned. And thanks for the fast response!

There, fixed it for ya!

Without knowing the circumstances, it is indeed easy to laugh this off, or suggest that two minutes of listenting and pointing out issues with an already existing demo isn't worth the equivalent of an undisclosed value. Advice that other users on this forum are getting for free.
I admit that posting in a public forum anonymously was a bad idea. It is just not the right path for this task. I'm sorry for the confusion this has caused.

I kindly ask the moderators to delete this thread.

Professional feedback requires a professional providing the feedback. Pros expect to get paid, especially on a job board. I'm not here to get paid, I just clicked out of curiosity and some expectation of unfolding drama.

Another example of VI Control at its worst, never giving first time posters the time of day nor considering to help them instead of immediately mocking a first post where we can. Pretty lame.

Sorry you had to go through this @cornucopia - I hope you’ll stick around. This is actually a pretty cool place once you start actively participating in the discourse.

Understood. It was also a bad idea to choose the Jobs board, given that I can't disclose anything publicly at this time.

That's why I came here. Places where you can meaningfully talk about composing and arranging music are rare. As is the kind of product we set into the world. I expect it to be a perfect match, although you never know how the dynamic unfolds once you open the gates.
I think I'm now going to look out for individuals and contact them directly. Should have done that from the start. Somtimes you have a bad day and don't notice until it jumps you in the face ;)

@NoamL Can't agree more. Big A.I. is cynical.

We're a different breed though. Our product is not a text-to-music transformer or something. It still requires a human with musical taste and a goal to produce good results. It's merely a tool. Albeit a very powerful one.
