Hello everyone,

I hope I am sharing in the right thread, I am new here yet.

I am looking for a distributor company to release the OST album of the feature film I composed the music for. I was previously using RouteNote for short film soundtracks, but RouteNote's policy is that they do not provide YouTube Content ID protection in the "Soundtrack" genre and do not upload music to social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).

Is there a distributor company that you have used before and you know that there are no problems in these issues? I am open to all suggestions.

Wish everyone a great week!

I recommend DiGiDi. It’s a Danish co-op. (So owned by the artists and labels who use it) No investors, no shareholders they need to please. They work with The Orchard for the CID part and they are some of the best in the industry. Phone support, and you can customize your release like you please.
I was on the board for some years before i came to the US. Enough people onboard that thing and it could change things.

Never heard of them before, but it does sounds like an interesting idea - thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much Byrial, I'll definitely take a look. The specs look great. Do you know anything about the two problems I mentioned above? Does DiGiDi have this kind of policy?

One option you might consider is DistroKid. DistroKid is known for its user-friendly interface, fast distribution process, and comprehensive services. They offer YouTube Content ID protection, which can help you monetize your music on YouTube and protect it from unauthorized use. Additionally, they distribute music to various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, maximizing your reach across different channels.

Hello, thank you for your advice. I know almost all distributors in the market. However, as I mentioned above, I am trying to solve the specific problem in the "Soundtrack" category. I am looking for a distributor that solves that problem, thank you again for your time.

They cover all bases. Soundtracks, social media CID - you can pick and choose. No strange policies or exclusions. As mentioned they work with the orchard, so you get one of the best youtube / digital asset teams in the industry. When you combine that with actual support - real people on a phone - it’s pretty powerful. And there’s the fact again that it’s owned by the artists themselves, and that’s a cool counter move to the current state of the industry. On the music asset side, you get roughly the same product, no matter if its distrokid, tunecore, cdbaby or any if the others.

I'll definitely take a look at it. I heard it for the first time thanks to you.
