I just bought most of the VWinds series. The 'slammed' (instant) on/off envelope is agile, but too precise for notation (though understandably necessary).

2 alternatives:

I tested Infinite Brass with the release samples of another library on the same MIDI channel. At the cost of agility, it 100% solved the problem. Another modeled/hybrid company (Swam or samplemodeling?) has an auto-fade-out.

My suggested solution:

Release velocity could start an auto-fade-out, which shortens to a crisp cut-off at higher release velocities... how much based on a slider value + randomizer, depending on how much users want this, even on lower velocities. It might even benefit live playback to offer this kind of release agility.
