Dorico 5 released (May 24, 2023)

(Then again, it's an insane job to keep up with all the Android devices and OS versions, so chances for that are unfortunately rather slim.)

If it's an iOS version I hope the playback sounds are better. :)

I'm betting on 4.5 though. Maybe tighter NP4 integration or something.

Steinberg (and Daniel) had said no more .5 versions for any Steinberg products going forward, so this is certainly not Dorico 4.5.

I'm thinking either Dorico for Android or Dorico 5, most likely the former since I wouldn't expect to see the latter just yet.

Indeed. Also, looking at the video, it's like how you often see apps, pictures, etc. on phones (in that vertical portrait mode). More than likely, it is, indeed, Dorico for Android. Music that moves... everyone ALWAYS has their phone with them on the go/move, so I think that's another huge hint, as others have picked up on. I wonder if it'll be subscription based like the iOS version with a free version that has limitations.

My bet is that it is Dorico Pro for the iPad, and optimization to make it run on a Windows tablet.

Hmmm Dorico is already on the iPad, though. I can't really see it being about optimizations to make it run on a Windows tablet. That doesn't seem to be much of a huge market, unless it is and I'm just unaware of it.

I thought he said no more PAId .5 updates.. rather than no more .5 updates.

I think they are unlikely to have a free .5 update because it may confuse people who may expect any .5 update to be paid and wonder why they can't buy it, or they may skip the version thinking they have to pay for it. They're more likely to call it 4.4, IMHO.

I tend to exclude an Android version. I would think it would be a huge technical undertaking, with a limited reward.

This has been my thoughts also.
I’ve read multiple comments in various forums about how fragmented and difficult it is to maintain a large audio production app on Android. This feels like a massive effort for little commercial reward.
Given the screen aspect of the video I’m more inclined to think an iPhone adapted version with a compact ui and more limited feature set for sketching on the move.
