Thank you @anjwilson!It's beautiful. The dynamics on the cello are a little high for my taste, leading to a more aggressive sound than I would seek for this melody. What is BS Fingers Version 10.0?
Yes, I heard the same thing on the aggressiveness of the sound, especially more in the highest register.
BS Fingers Version 10.0 is just me playing cello live with my 10 fingers and thumbs--he he. With samples/VI apparently good enough even to simulate solo instruments, came up with that name as a mixture of sarcasm and self-deprecation.
I've been working on recording the acoustic cello in my home studio and that is the best tone I could capture so far. It is a Senn 441 (hyper-cardioid) dynamic dangled from the "roof" of a bass trap "hut" I set up in the corner of the room I'm presently using to record. For post processing, added a little Altiverb and surgically EQ'd out some of the harsher frequencies (obviously cello is typically mic'd from a distance in a nice hall to avoid these problems). But I'm trying to test the limits of what is possible from a home recording environment.
