Gladiator 2 - Harry Gregson-Williams to score

The Plot: Maximus Survived and is now a Bounty hunter played by Liam Neesen. Old habits die hard...
The plot thickens: Maximus has gained a 100 pounds.
2nd. act: Maximus is struggling with the lost of his wife and the trauma of the wars he fought and is now an alcoholic.
3rd. act: Maximus learns his wife had a son before she died and start searching for him only to find out he's been kidnapped. Maximus find the man who kidnapped his son and kill him. Maximus then finally deliever his son but only after he is beaten by a vampire. The end...

Now that would be interesting lol.

Hopefully they came to their senses and used Nick Cave's Gladiator 2 script.

Crowe's Maximus meddles with Roman gods in the afterlife, is reincarnated, defends early Christians, reunites with his son, and ultimately lives forever – leading tanks in the second world war and even mucking around in the modern-day Pentagon.

Add a few skeletons and a magic sword and I’d be first in theater line.

(You can use this as a testimonial when you’ll reach for producers)

I take that back. I mean forget the part about WW2 and he lives forever etc that's too much. But i can see the rest possibly working. But only with Russel Crow and Ridley Scott. And then he dies at the end and find his wife in the after life etc... It's a bit crazy but it could work maybe.

Also, i totally forgot he had a son.

Interesting. It does seem an odd film to create a sequel for, but with the team behind it hopefully it will be good.
You underestimate Hollywood's ability to make sequels and remakes of films that don't need them.

Edit: HGW did an excellent score for Kingdom of Heaven, also by Ridley Scott, so I trust whatever film they hand him, at least he will try to make the best of it.

Gladiator 2 is one of the stupidest ideas I have ever heard of.

Who knows it might turn out great, but I am very sceptic. It just screams box office disaster to me.

We'll see, but given the cast and the plot, I can't imagine Gladiator 2 being half the movie that Gladiator was. I used to be a fan of Ridley Scott, but he filmed his share of forgettable movies too.

Gladiator is pretty well my favorite movie and I'm not really excited for this sequel after the letdown that was "Napoleon".

The music though might be neat.

I'm sure I've already seen a Gladiator sequel. They must have had a very low budget, because the production clearly couldn't afford clothes for any of the cast... oh, I see.

All that said, I can only imagine an actual sequel tarnishing the original by association.

Ugh. Of all the movies that don't need to be made, this is near the top of the list. And HGW is utterly fantastic, but Hans *IS* Gladiator. That film and its score are absolutely legendary.

I'd love to be pleasantly surprised, but I never underestimate Hollywood's ability to screw up a franchise...
