In praise of Christopher Young

Listening back to Flowers in the Attic when Young was just getting started. What a terrific score. This and his horror work in the 80s was and is stellar. His new score The Piper (2023) draws upon the same vocabulary in places which is a wonderful return to the kind of music that inspired me to be a film composer back some 40 years ago. Murder in the First is also a knock out score.

Anyone who makes a point of explicitly praising Christopher Young can count on my FULL support. The man is a legend in my book and has written many great scores. The ones mentioned here are all in the triple A tier. I also love to listen to Sinister. The sound design on that one is out of this world.
