Daniel Pemberton's "Across the Spider-Verse"

Absolutely loved Pemberton's score for this! Sounds so different and creative, and it blends very well with the animation style.
His synths, sound design, and ESPECIALLY DRUMS are so good, and the theme development is awesome too (especially in the ending plot twist scene). He also made one of the most eerie sounding villain themes I've heard (the Spot's theme).

I'm so glad this score got the recognition it deserves!

This chase cue is one of my faves so far:

OH MY GOD this sounds amazing!!! The record scratches in this movie are so unique and iconic, I grinned a little every time I hear them ;)

It's very present in the opening titles, I'm pretty much obsessed with this now...

I saw it at the local Atmos cinema - was amazing. I really like how Daniel assigns each character their own leit-motif - with the kids in the car, we have fun listening to the soundtrack and guessing which character each cue is about, without looking at the screen. My favourite leitmotif is still the prowler. But The Spot is right up there too!

You're absolutely right about the motifs! Sometimes he blends one character's motif with another and it just works so well. And in the last cue he combines the instruments that represent each character. I can't really explain it, but this comment on YT explained it very well:

The music really is awesome! I especially enjoyed this piece:

When you think about the scene it's such a weird task for the composer ("spiderwoman, pregnant spiderwoman and cyber-spiderman are fighting a villain from the renaissance") but it's handled masterfully and even a really fun listen on its own!

Yes this piece is awesome! Love the opera voice he adds here
