Ninezero - SynthV male English voice

The demo song is not a good song IMHO, but I like the tone, and it could very well suit what I'm aiming to do (metal, rock, I need a powerful voice indeed!)
I'm definitely going to get this one!

Today, we officially release Synthesizer V Studio 1.8.1. It officially brings new features and improvements for creators, including the integration of Vocal Mode into the Parameter Panel (pro edition required), an improvement of the neural vocoder for male vocals, and upgrades to the available masculine AI voice databases to accommodate these new capabilities.

You can view the full changelog at the link below. The new version of the editor software and the voice databases can now be downloaded via the software's built-in check updates function.

Also available today is Ninezero, an English male AI voice database designed specifically for rock and heavy metal music, for $79, following our usual open and inclusive commercial use policy.

When you purchase Ninezero from Dreamtonics Store, from the download page you’ll receive a bonus Vocal Phrases Pack of 200+ short, expressive phrases recorded by the singer himself. These samples can be used to add extra emphasis, excitement, or emotion to your vocal tracks.

You can purchase it through the following link.

First Test of NineZero
I downloaded Ninezero, and opened up a file written for Kevin yesterday and changed the voice to Ninezero, cranked the overdrive up to max and made his gender more masculine. In a few minutes here is what he sounds like out of the box.

NineZero - Old Time Rock & Roll

I realize this is not really his style (more heavy metal) but just wanted to hear him scream. His pronunciation has more of an accent than kevin/solaria/natalie/asterian, but with phoneme tweaking I think he is usable, but a little non-native sounding if you give him standard English spelled words. I'll try and make something for him from scratch.

my test with 9Z

The original song was with Kevin, I just changed the voice bank, no other tweak

I agree with @ThomasS that the pronunciation has to be tweaked.

I admit I'm not entirely convinced by the tone, maybe is a little "thin" in the verses, but it could be due to my mix. I did the mixdown in a rush, I almost not listened to it. Just switched the voice tracks
I cranked "solid" and "overdrive" settings to a quite high value in SynthV.

I did a quick switcheroo with a folk track I did with Asterian. For this, I've retained Asterian's pitch style (vibrato/transitions etc). I'll need to do some work on the s's, but otherwise, I think it has some personality! Short sample only. First half with some BV's, and the second half with 9z alone.

A bit disappointed to see only three vocal modes (clear, overdrive and muted), but I do think this will be useful once I can figure out some tweaks. I don't plan for heavy metal, but rock will be useful.

Looking forward to messing around with it later.

[update]

I played around and decided to follow my own advice and let 9z do his own thing rather than take character from Asterian. Still a way to go to tame those s's and some over-pronunciation (probably not a word), but here's the whole song with 9z doing his own thing. The voice is a bit theatrical for this style but the roughness is getting there. Definitely better in his upper register.

Hi, I just purchased Ninezero from the Dreamtonics Store but did not find a link to download the Vocal Phrases Pack you mentioned. How do I obtain that?

I like Ninezero's timbre and flow better when he's belting in his higher registers I think. Note the C5 and D5 starting just after this timestamp:

Quieter parts, or his lower registers in general, aren't really doing it for me so far. Though even in his lower/mid registers sometimes he hits a sweet spot I do like.

I agree. Compared to the other English males, his belts sound pretty good. As far as his regular voice, I think it's a matter of taste. The sound is fairly close to the original singer and I feel the same way about his voice as you do. Having said that, every singer can find a song that works for them. I think the problem with us composers is that we are trying to make these singers sound like someone they aren't instead of finding what works for their voice. I'm sure we've all heard some of our favorite artists sing a cover song and realized that it wasn't really a great song for their voice. Very few singers can sound good on every thing. These Synthv voices are no different. This just shows that Dreamtonics and their affiliates can't release new English voices fast enough. I think we might see a ramping up with the help of this community.

I think his power in the higher registers is quite good. I wonder if you changed the key of the song to let him sing a bit higher if that would help his voice or not?

I feel the same...
I think I will need some experiment, and most importantly write a song with him right from the start!
