Starting work on my first venture and curious to know out of the these synths that I love to program, what synth do you own? You can also include your personal opinion on why you use what you use.

Edit: Changed to what synth do you use?

Should that really be 'own'? I 'own' Massive X but I might as well not with how likely it is I'll ever use it.

I also 'own' Vital because it's free but I only use it for organic sound design. I vastly prefer Serum myself. I would never buy presets for Vital.

Good point. I should say what synth do you use. I'll change it.

Kind of interesting. I own most of my synths because they were unique sounded great and not too many people have them. Now trying to do programming for others I realize that's a handicap.

Of the many synths I own I feel Knifonium (not in the list) needs good presets the most.
It's a great sounding synth, but I'm not so fond of the sounds it comes with.
(I like sounds that don't play melodies on their own and aren't buried in FX)
Damn. Forgot that one. Adding it now.

Omnisphere, Pigments + V Collection, Softube Statement / Monument, my Roland Juno and the Boss SY-200 pedal (yea, I know some r “romplers”, but does it matter?)

I have many more, including Diva, Voltage Modular, Analog Lab V, Memory Mode, PS-20, Surrealistic MG-20, Abyss, Biotek 2, F..em, Wiggle, Dimension Pro, Rapture, Proclethya, Iris 2, Synthmaster One & 2, all NI synths, Oberhausen, Kniforium, Lion, Europa, Objekt, Codex, Elements.

I'm using Falcon the most because it's the most universal: it can act as a sample player, a drum rack, supports many of synthesis types and has tons of effects and filters, than can be directly automated.

So it's key to the strategy I'm presently using to be least DAW dependent: a project mostly based on Falcon can be easily ported from Studio One to Live or whatever. What most people do in Ableton, chaining effects and EQs, I do directly in Falcon.

The biggest limit to this workflow is that Falcon, like most synths, does not accept external sidechains. So I'm doing sidechain compression in the DAW.

The two synths I use practically to the exclusion of all others are not on the list: Omnisphere and Diva

Oh well, I guess I must be doing something wrong
No. I just never got around to getting either one. I'm very fond of Diva though.
Omni is great but the first time it was unveiled at NAMM my initial thought was.....

Hive2 , then Diva. In this particular order :)

Omnisphere might be in this list as well, but i wouldnt even consider it a synth, for me its just a source of infinite inspiration by loading preset after preset. Even after two decades (fuck im growing old) you discover something new all the time.

I've added Hive because I'd be willing to get it even though I don't have it yet. Also added is Falcon for the same reason.

Phase Plant, Pigments and Vital are the ones I've checked in the poll, but my most used synth in the last week has been Objekt, and I suspect that will not change for a while.
After those, comes the AAS Modelling Collection, none of which I'd want to be without, though I'm hoping for an update that brings the modulation up to date.
