Orchestral tools Sine player...won't use program change messages & vibrato control issue???

I just grabbed the orchestral tools berlin orchestra when it was on sale, and while things sound great so far, I am a little less than happy with the Sine player (I know it's been known to have issues a few years ago but I figure they've ironed out the kinks by now).

Issue 1: It won't use program change messages for articulation switching. I installed the latest version, and just downloaded the OT libraries yesterday. Midi CC's and keyswitches work, (although I can't believe that instead of a universal numbering system like spitfire UACC, each patch just randomly assigns 'evenly spaced' midi CC numbers to each articulation, so if you're setting up expression maps you have to manually assign each one to a consistent number) but program change messages don't work at all. I'm using expression maps in cubase, when I use the exact same EXPmaps to send keyswitch or cc data they work, but switch it to Program changes and then nothing.

Issue 2: I've been trying to set it up so I have vibrato on a fader like with spitfire libraries, instead of having a different articulation for it but wow Sine might win an award for having the most complicated possible workaround for such a simple thing. The only way to do it AFAIK (please correct me if I'm wrong) is to setup a poly articulation map. The issue with this is there's no way to lock it!!! So as soon as you select another articulation, it 'breaks' the poly setup and you have to recreated it (not really that hard, but setting this up in a VEPro template makes this unfeasible. The only solution I've found is to have each poly setup on it's own midi channel, and have expression maps target different midi channels for legato+legato vibrato, sustain+sustain vibrato (and using my CC21 as the poly change controller), and then all the rest of the articulations on another channgel with keyswitches. This is so clunky, I am trying to see this from another perspective but cannot see any possible advantages to setting it up this way.

Otherwise the woodwinds sound great (haven't gotten close to integrating anthing else into my template yet because it's so riddiculously tedious).

Any Sine player tips/tricks would be very welcomed.

And in case it's helpful, im using Cubase Pro 12 with Vienna Ensemble Pro v7.2.1516, all running on the same windows 10 machine.

You should be able to assign the vibrato CC using the settings panel. It’s usually cc3 or 4 as I recall. I usually set it via articulation set, as it’s off on. If you want to crossfade it using Sine i believe you do need to use the polymap. Otherwise it’s a switch.

You can save the polymaps, btw, which I recommend, because, yes, they are very easy to break.
