Hi,

I'm struggling to find the disc icon after installing Kontakt 7 on my new Windows 11 PC. Using the latest version of Kontakt 7.7.1

As you can see there is no disc icon, to get to the batch-resave menu. Why is it not visible in the GUI ?

What am I missing here, is there a setting I need to change to see the missing icons ?

Thanks,

It's only possible from the full Kontakt stand-alone version.

I remember it was possible to batch resave from the plugin Kontakt 6 , but seems like they changed this for K7.

I am trying to do the same thing Kontakt 7.7.1 on a Mac with Ventura - and the file menu does not show a batch resave

There are three FILE menus. (yeah confusing), It's the one to the right of the 'KONTAKT' label in the upper part of the GUI, the other 'File' menus above it, and below it do not have it. this confused me at first. Also make sure you are using the standalone version of Kontakt 7

very odd - K7 has changed its behavior - for some unexplained reason - it is now beginning to work more like it should although it still isn't importing 3rd party libraries - at least the menu item for batch resave is showing up - go figure - if anyone has a way to fix this - my NKI files are greyed out I can click on them and make them run - but I can't get them to show up in the library - even doing a batch resave Screenshot 2023-11-26 at 10.29.04 PM.png

Thanks - I got most of the instruments to finally load up there are still a few that Kontakt won't put in the library for some reason - but it's better than it was - I can't see the differences between the folders it doesn't like and those it does

Yes this was changed in K7.7 in order to streamline the menus and intended usages in plugin vs standalone.
am I misunderstanding this? You mean if I find I need to batch resave a library while I'm working on some music in my DAW, I can't do that? I have to quit, open the standalone, batch resave and then reopen my project?

You don't have to quit nor reopen your project. You can just open standalone and do the batch resave there.
DP freaks out when you open a standalone VI like that, there's a competition for who is controlling the audio.

I really don't understand the benefit of getting rid of it, personally I use it all the time. Why is it considered an 'unintended usage' in plugin?

Since it's a modal dialog that overtakes the focus from your host, it has the potential of locking up the GUI for longer periods of time (the more NKIs there are and the larger they are, the longer the time taken). No matter how you look at it, this is not good UX. It's really best this is done in standalone. But also, you are not supposed to do this all the time with a library. MAYBE once after it's installed, but not when you're deeply in the flow.

I’ve done it many times in the player to amazing benefits- did they remove that from the kontakt player in an update??
That’s bad business taking features away and holding them hostage.
There is no doubt I have done many batch re-saves as BBCSO is 100x faster afterwards
